PAPUA - The Para Raider Infantry Battalion 501/Bajra Yudha Kostrad, part of the Indonesian Armed Forces, engaged in a community-focused event in Susumuk Village, Aifat District, while on border security duties in Maybrat Regency, Southwest Papua. On October 19, 2024.
Led by Lieutenant Colonel Yakhya Wisnu Arianto, the Task Force emphasized the importance of connecting with the local community. Taking a break from their protective tasks, the soldiers visited YPK Elementary School, where they practiced music with the children.
This initiative not only fostered a sense of security but also enriched the students’ art education. Young participant Leo Tabuni expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thank you, Commander 501. We are happy to practice music together. God bless!" His heartfelt words reflect the positive impact of the Army's efforts and the unity being built in the community.
After receiving updates on the activity, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, the Commanding General of HABEMA, praised the Task Force’s initiative.
"The 501 Task Force’s efforts demonstrate TNI’s commitment to inclusive social communication to support development in Papua, " he stated. This recognition highlights the significance of such initiatives in shaping a brighter future for the region.
